Good morning. Well, in my last post, I mistakenly predicted our arrival home as Saturday, but we actually got home Friday around 3:00 pm. I just lost track of what day it was/is. (Easy to do when you don't much care what day it is.;)) Anyway, we had a fun reunion with family and friends and it felt good to be home. The kids took good care of the place while we were gone, but now the realization of having to do it myself has set in......mowing grass, killing weeds and bugs, cleaning the pond filter, etc., etc. MANY THANKS to all who let us go away for two months without having to worry about this stuff.
I haven't really started going through my pictures yet and editing and sorting them, but as soon as I get a bit organized I will post some. I also plan to do a wrap-up of our trip as soon as I can. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon, and thanks for following along. Hope you enjoyed it.

Ron and Barbara,
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like you had a great trip! Thanks for the pictures and comments. We are planning a motorcycle trip to the Pacific Northwest (to visit the last 4 of the lower 48) next year, and you have been very helpful and informative.

Hi Buck. Good to hear from you. We saw ALOT of motorcycles loaded with camping gear/trailers traveling all over the US and Canada. Are you planning on camping along the way or motelling it?
ReplyDeleteWe originally were planning on touring Washington and Oregon on the way back, but decided it would extend our trip too much. We haven't been there in many years and will go back again. Also, we will spend more time in Idaho next time....very beautiful state.
Glad you enjoyed the blog.

Ron,
ReplyDeleteWe have a 2007 Honda Goldwing and matching Escapade trailer. In June we took a 22 day 5200 mile trip up to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. No camping. We do motels only.
Our first and last camping trip was years ago. We stayed at, I believe it is called Worlds End SP in north central PA. We got up to 39 degrees and a light rain. Packing up the wet gear, loading the bike and riding off in the rain was not fun. First and last time camping!
Riding in the rain is no problem as long as you start out dry and have your rainsuits on.
After reading your blog and doing other pre ride research I am looking forward to Custer NP and the Baniff/Jasper ride. We plan to start at the Badlands and go west to the ocean then north. We want to go back to Yellowstone and Jackson. It was cold and had some snow the last time we were in Yellowstone so we did not hang around to long. I am also looking forward to the Columbia River Gorge amd the Vancouver area.
As you know there is a lot of great scenery out there, and we really enjoy seeing it on the bike.
Thanks again for all of the stories and pictures.
Buck....
