Yesterday we had a pleasant drive from Tok to North Pole. Made a few stops along the way to shop and sight see. Nothing too special about the scenery except for snow on the distant mountains. We stopped at a visitor center in Delta Junction at the end of the Alaska Highway to get our certificate for traveling the 1422 mile length of the highway. We then decided to spend a few days at SantaLand RV Park in North Pole and sight-see from here. It's a very nice rv park with super helpful and friendly people. North Pole is about 12 miles south of Fairbanks.
Today we toured around Fairbanks for a while waitng for 2:30 to take the El Dorado Mine train and pan for gold. Barb and I each got about $12 worth of gold and then spent $30 on a locket to put it in...?????? Fairbanks itself is nothing special ....just a medium size city with the usual shopping centers you would find at home.
The temperature got up into the 80's today, quite warm, and the mosquitos (the state bird) are bad. We killed more than two dozen in the motorhome before we left this morning. Got to get in and out of the motorhome quickly, or they'll get in.
Tomorrow we will be taking a riverboat cruise and will let you know how it turns out.

First hint: It has something to do with Santa.

Hey Pap and Gram. Okay I have a guess cause me, dad and mom were thinkin of the Christmas song and we think its Santa Lane.

Hey! Its Mandy! Just decided that I will join in on this fun competition as well.
